What is the EOSB calculation in the UAE?

Under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, UAE EOSB (End of Service Benefit) is calculated as 21 calendar days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years of service, and 30 calendar days per year for each year beyond 5 years. Only basic salary is used — not total package. Employees who resign with less than 1 year receive no EOSB.

Emiratisation (also known as the Nafis programme) is the UAE government's strategic initiative to increase UAE national employment in the private sector. Companies with 50+ employees are required to meet annual Emiratisation targets. Non-compliance results in financial penalties payable to MOHRE.
